In a world defined by acceleration, Vietnam is making a different kind of statement: the future of luxury travel is not about moving faster, but about experiencing more deeply.
This philosophy anchors LuxGroup®’s latest initiative—“Slow Travel in a Fast City”—recently featured on Good Morning US, positioning the Saigon River as Asia’s next frontier for cultural luxury travel.
Reimagining the River as a Cultural Axis
For centuries, the Saigon River has shaped southern Vietnam—carrying commerce, migration, and memory. Today, LuxGroup® is redefining this historic waterway, transforming it from infrastructure into experience.
From the river, Ho Chi Minh City unfolds as a layered narrative: colonial architecture alongside modern skyscrapers, tranquil riverbanks set against a rapidly globalizing metropolis. It is this contrast—between movement and stillness—that gives rise to a new definition of luxury: quiet, immersive, and deeply personal.

A Strategic Investment in the Future of Travel
At the core of this transformation is a bold commitment: a US$38 million investment to develop a fleet of 10 boutique cruises and yachts.
Anchored on the Saigon River, the fleet is designed to extend seamlessly from urban waterways to Vietnam’s southern coastline and the Con Dao Islands—creating a continuous river-to-sea journey that connects city, culture, and nature.
This is more than fleet expansion. It is the creation of a new tourism infrastructure—positioning Vietnam’s waterways as a premium global travel corridor, where heritage meets modernity, and every journey reflects a nation rising by the sea.
Amiral Cruises for Presidents® — A Voyage Through Time
At the center of this vision is Amiral Cruises for Presidents®, Vietnam’s first luxury boutique river–maritime cruise line™.
Launching on June 5, 2026, the project commemorates the 115th anniversary of the historic 1911 departure of Nguyễn Tất Thành aboard the Amiral Latouche-Tréville from Nhà Rồng Wharf—a symbolic moment in Vietnam’s journey toward the world.
Inspired by this legacy and the elegance of 1920s Art Deco, Amiral is not simply a cruise—it is a curated cultural residence on water.
Departing from Bạch Đằng Wharf and Nhà Rồng Port, it offers:
• Refined day, sunset, and dinner voyages
• The signature SÔNG SHOW®, blending music, storytelling, and performance
• Boutique capacity from 99 to 299 guests, ensuring intimacy and exclusivity
Here, hospitality reaches a presidential standard—where every detail is intentional, and every moment is designed to endure.

From River to Sea: The Next Chapter (2027–2028)
In its next phase, LuxGroup® will expand Amiral into intimate 1–3 night journeys for approximately 100 guests.
Departing from Nhà Rồng Wharf, these experiences will explore Southern Vietnam’s most compelling landscapes:
• The Saigon River and curated urban escapes
• The UNESCO-listed Cần Giờ Biosphere Reserve
• The historic Củ Chi Tunnels
• Vũng Tàu (Cap Saint-Jacques), Gành Rái Bay, and Long Sơn Island
• The waterways of the Mekong Delta
And ultimately, the pristine Con Dao Islands.
This seamless transition from river to sea creates a new category of travel—where geography becomes narrative, and movement becomes meaning.
Slow Travel in a Fast City
Ho Chi Minh City is one of Asia’s most dynamic urban centers. Yet on the Saigon River, a different rhythm emerges.
As vessels depart from Bạch Đằng Wharf, the city’s intensity recedes. The skyline becomes a backdrop. Time expands.
This is the essence of LuxGroup®’s philosophy: slow travel—not as escape, but as rediscovery.
In a world of over-scheduled itineraries, the ability to pause—to feel, observe, and connect—has become the ultimate luxury.

Heritage as the New Luxury
Luxury today is no longer defined by scale or excess. It is defined by meaning, memory, and emotional resonance.
Vietnam’s waterways offer a powerful foundation for this shift. For centuries, rivers have shaped livelihoods, culture, and identity. By activating these waterways through curated experiences, LuxGroup® transforms heritage into living capital.
As Dr. Phạm Hà, Founding President & CEO of LuxGroup®, explains: “Luxury is no longer about how much you consume, but how deeply you feel. A river journey is not a route—it is a story you move through.”
In this sense, cruising is no longer about destinations—it is about memories.
A New Global Narrative for Vietnam
“Slow Travel in a Fast City” signals a broader shift in Vietnam’s tourism strategy—from volume to value, from destination to experience.
By integrating river, culture, sustainability, and design, LuxGroup® is helping position Vietnam as a leading luxury cultural destination in Asia—where journeys are immersive, meaningful, and deeply human.
The Saigon River—once a gateway for trade—is now becoming a gateway for experience.
Discover. Dream. Explore. Learn. Respect. Celebrate. Enjoy.
As night falls and city lights shimmer across the water, the transformation is complete.
This is not spectacle.
This is presence.
With Amiral Cruises for Presidents®, LuxGroup® is not simply launching a product—it is redefining how journeys are experienced, how stories are told, and how a nation connects with the world.
And in that quiet space between past and future, a new chapter of luxury travel begins.
